Simple Tips & Tricks

When picking foods to nourish our bodies we want to find Healthy, Live, Organic, Whole Foods. I always suggest supporting your local farmers market and butcher shop. Lots of "farm boxes" are also seasonally available now as people are focusing on helping out small business again and family farms. You will get much better quality foods & more bang for your buck! If you have the room, plant. A lot of simple things and herbs can be grown indoors all year long. A good quality water supply is also important. Good quality sleep. Healthy relationships. We have a very small amount of time on this beautiful turtle island lets make the best of it! It all starts with what we put into our mouth & body.

Picking and Cleaning our Fruits and Veggies

Our produce for the most part is sprayed quite heavy with pesticides & herbicides. We don't want to be ingesting these things as they cause chaos for our bodies. The Clean 15 are usually less sprayed or have a protective outer layer to help resist absorption of toxic chemicals. Where as the dirty 12 we want to be buying organic for sure and need a good wash to remove all harmful sprays.

Hormone Balancing

Learning about our unique menstrual cycle and eating for it is so important! Something we are not taught about! As women we are doing a beautiful hormone dance for roughly 28 days. ( if not on an oral contraceptive as these trick the body and its hormones ) When we eat to support our hormones as they change we can boost our moods for some of the lower feeling times. Seed cycling is a great example of this. My favourite is to eat them raw, ground up, in smoothies, protein balls and many other options!

Day 1 - 14 | Follicular & Ovulation - Daily

SUPERFOOD - noun

A nutrient rich food considered to be especially beneficial for health and well - being.

I love superfoods! They are so simple and nutrient dense. Our bodies don't usually have to work hard to digest and break them down. The foods have the perfect balance of vitamins and minerals needed to support a healthy mind & body. Depending on the food they are usually antioxidant rich as well!

Some examples are Honey, Garlic, Onions, Dark Leafy Greens, Legumes, Nuts & Seeds, Kefir, Olive Oil, Avocados, Acai Berries, Cinnamon,Goji berries, Flax seeds, Bone Broths, Fermented Foods and much more!
